India wins Azlan Shah Cup in Malaysia after 13 years

The Indian Hockey team wins the Azlan Shah hockey tournament after a gap of 13 years beating host Malaysia 3-1 in the finals.

Indian team ended up as runner-up last year the Azlan Shah Hockey Cup.
This year India won the five-nation tournament, with other teams in the fray being, Pakistan, New Zealand, Malaysia & debutant Egypt.

Arjun Hallappa(8th min), Prabhjot Singh(20th min) and Shivendra Singh(41st min) scored goals for India. Azlan Mizron(11th min) pulled one back into the Indian goal post for host Malaysia.

This was the only game in the whole tournament where, Skipper Sandeep Singh(Ind) -- voted player of the tournament -- did not score a goal for India. All the other games, otherwise, have seen Sandeep Singh hitting the net consistently.
