A Tribute to the Heroes of the 26/11 Mumbai Terror attacks

Saluting the 26/11 Martyrs

26/11 2008, will go down as one of the most unfortunate days in the Indian as well as the World history, as a bunch of terrorists went on a killing spree, killing innocent civilians in Mumbai, the financial capital of India.
A year after the 26/11 terror attacks in Mumbai the wounds are still afresh in the Nations mind.
The way the brutal attacks were carried out in Mumbai said everything about the inhuman nature of the terrorists, as they killed atleast 173 people, and injuring atleast 308.
The terrorists have no heart, & can brutally kill anyone at will was the clear message.
The horrific episode that shook India, have deeply saddened the people of this country.
There was sadness, anger & frustration among the everyone, as the people of Mumbai gathered on December 3, 2008, for a candlelight vigil for the martyrs of 26/11 at the Gateway of India in Mumbai.
Mumbai has been a target of the terrorists since 1993, and continues to be.
At that unprepared unfortunate hour, India saw the rise of a few heroes who stood against the terrorists for their Nation & their people.

Assistant Sub-Inspector(ASI)Tukaram Omble the brave Sub-Inspector of the Mumbai Police Force held Terrorist Ajmal Kasab alive in order to help the Police find the terrorists' origin, and gave his own life in the process.

Hemant Karkare
Hemant Karkare
Anti-Terrorism Squad(ATS) Chief, Hemant Karkare was slain while fighting the terrorists at Taj Intercontinental Hotel.

Ashok Kamte Vijay Salaskar
Ashok Kamte Vijay Salaskar
Additional Commissioner of Police(ACP), Ashok Kamte & Encounter Specialist, Inspector Vijay Salaskar. who were killed in a shootout with terrorists at Metro Cinema.
Major Unnikrishnan
Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan

Major Unnikrishnan who lost his life during a battle against the terrorists at Taj Hotel.

On this day, let’s stand up and salute all the brave soldiers who lost their lives to safeguard our safety and integrity, and also extend our condolences to the families and friends of
those who lost their lives in the worst ever terror assault in the history of India. It’s high time, we need to stand united to fight against terrorism and rip it apart.

We shall never forget the sacrifice of these, as well as hundreds of other officers & soldiers including the NSG commandos, the Armymen, the Police officers, & the innocent civilians.
May their souls rest in peace.

Their contribution to the country is uncomparable. May our almighty god give them and their family lots of peace, Hapiness & proud for being a part of their soul.
